High Peak is to run a partial replacement for the journeys on service 99 between Macclesfield and Congleton that are to be withdrawn at the end of August 2013.

The new Transpeak bus timetable from the start of September just involves some tweaks to help service reliability and satisfy passenger requests. The service runs between Manchester, Buxton, Matlock and Derby.

After what must have been a frustrating few days for users of buses in Dublin, things thankfully are going to go back to normal from tomorrow. A full service is planned.

Added a good number of West Midlands bus operators to the British Bus Companies page following perusal of the Network West Midlands bus operators listing. East Yorkshire and Finglands also are added there now.

Network West Midlands have a list of bus operators within their area. Links to operator websites are included too, a useful thing.

No Dublin Bus services tomorrow (2013-08-05) due to a strike. Implementing austerity is hard work when there are those refusing to engage with it. At least, it’s a bank holiday weekend in Éire. There no bus services today (2013-08-04) either and for the same reason.

Rush hour Monday to Friday journeys are to be re-timed for bus journeys on services 392 and 393 between Macclesfield and Stockport from the start of September.

On time Scotrail trains slow down over Glenfinnan viaduct (famous from Harry Potter films). It’s a nice touch that allows you to savour (and photograph?) an ionic Scottish view.

The Jacobite steam train runs twice daily from Monday to Friday until the end of August and not just once a day for the whole summer as once was the case; from September, it is one return journey a day until the end of October. The Saturday and Sunday service still is one train each way between Fort William and Mallaig and continue until September 22nd.

Stagecoach is offering open-top double-decker bus services around Lochaber, Skye & Orkney this summer.
