No Dublin Bus services tomorrow (2013-08-05) due to a strike. Implementing austerity is hard work when there are those refusing to engage with it. At least, it’s a bank holiday weekend in Éire. There no bus services today (2013-08-04) either and for the same reason.
Rush hour Monday to Friday journeys are to be re-timed for bus journeys on services 392 and 393 between Macclesfield and Stockport from the start of September.
On time Scotrail trains slow down over Glenfinnan viaduct (famous from Harry Potter films). It’s a nice touch that allows you to savour (and photograph?) an ionic Scottish view.
The Jacobite steam train runs twice daily from Monday to Friday until the end of August and not just once a day for the whole summer as once was the case; from September, it is one return journey a day until the end of October. The Saturday and Sunday service still is one train each way between Fort William and Mallaig and continue until September 22nd.
Stagecoach is offering open-top double-decker bus services around Lochaber, Skye & Orkney this summer.
Bowmans Coaches was taken over by West Coast Motors earlier this year. They even have sent over an open top double decker bus from Oban.
Prestbury Road closed for resurfacing from 17/7/2013 to 19/7/2013 in Macclesfield. Arriva bus service 4 disrupted and diverted. Not serving either Bollinbrook Road or Westminster Road stops from 09:30 to 15:30 each day.

Most service 108 journeys between Penrith & Patterdale are replaced by 508 during the English summer school holidays. Bus service 508 is running between Penrith & Bowness-on-Windermere on Sundays until the start of September. It passes both Ullswater & Patterdale as it does so.
